Personalization with Cosmos
This feature lets users personalize their content by selectively displaying macros and tabs based on user-defined Collections. With Content Viz, you can now create visually stunning pages in Confluence and tailor the content to specific audiences using the power of personalization.
How it works
Content Viz personalization relies on Collections, user-defined groups managed by the Cosmos app. Cosmos acts as a free intranet app, offering personalization capabilities to Confluence content. With Collections, admins can control which audience can view specific macros or tabs within Content Viz.
To get started, ensure you have Cosmos installed and properly configured before using the personalization feature in Content Viz. To use the personalization feature in Content Viz, you must set up and manage Collections using Cosmos. Refer to the Cosmos documentation for detailed instructions on creating and managing Collections.
Using personalization in Content Viz
Personalizing Macros
Add the Content Viz macro on a page.
Select the macro you wish to personalize (Blogs, Pages, People, and Spaces).
Locate the personalization settings for the macro in the filter tab of the configuration panel on the left.
Use the dropdown field or search option to select one or more Collections that should have access to the macro's content.
Save the changes.
Now, the macro will only be visible to the Collections you have selected. Users who are not part of the selected Collections will not see the content generated by the macro.
Personalizing Tabs in Content Viz
Add the Content Viz macro on a page.
Select the macro you wish to personalize (Blogs, Pages, People, and Spaces).
Group the content in tabs and select the tab you wish to personalize.
Look for the personalization settings for the macro in the filter tab of the configuration panel on the left.
Use the dropdown field or search option to assign the tab to specific Collections.
Save the changes.
After personalization, the tab will only be visible to users who are part of the assigned Collections. Users not belonging to the assigned Collections will not see the tab on the page.
