We understand that setting up a new app can be daunting, but we're here to help. This guide will walk you through the initial steps to start with Cosmos and ensure a smooth onboarding experience. Let's get started!

Cosmos - Intranet for Confluence can be accessed by all users through the Confluence navigation bar. Go to Apps and click on the Cosmos.

The initial setup of the Cosmos is carried out by the Confluence Admin.

Until you follow the steps below, random dummy data will be displayed to give you an idea of the app's features.

Step 1 - Sync the Employee Database

Go to Cosmos settings in the sidebar, open the Employee Database and sync the Cosmos Employee Database with your Confluence instance. This is necessary so all user profiles are initialized in the Cosmos app.

Your user data is safe with us - we don't store it. On our end, the users are represented by their user ID, a string of random and unidentifiable digits and letters.

The database is the central piece of Cosmos which also allows you to create user profiles (see Step 2) and modules such as upcoming birthdays, new starters, work anniversary etc. Overall, it is the engine that is powering the personalization experience of Cosmos. You can learn more about the feature here.

Step 2 - Set up the user profile

Access your profile on the bottom left in the Cosmos sidebar and then click on the Edit button that appears on the bottom right of your profile screen. The configuration sidebar for the user profile opens up. You can learn more about user profiles here.

The user profile layout you define here will be applied to all user profiles.
